I am putting up this review after ~9 months of my SMILE eye surgery performed by the coolest & renowned ophthalmologist, Dr. Cyres Mehta. Initially, I did an extensive research on LASIK vs SMILE (including other methodologies). I first met Dr. Mehta in Aug 2023, where he cleared absolutely all sorts of hesitation I had regarding vision-correction surgeries, as it definitely is a big deal to get something in your eye done. His technical know-how in layman terms really helps the potential patient to understand the process well. It’s so important to be able to trust your doctor! The type of surgery that he’d finalise depends on a few key parameters of the patient’s eye. I was lucky enough to undergo SMILE in Dec 2024, as my pre-op test reports were ideal. It just took Dr. Mehta a couple of minutes (for both eyes) & I walked out with ~90% vision, without any discomfort/irritation. SMILE truly is painless! I was so confident & faithful throughout. Truly blessed to get operated by him. Post-op as well he was constantly in touch via WhatsApp & re-prescribed the necessary eye-drops. I travelled all the way from Gangtok, Sikiim for my eye surgery to Dr Cyres. Upon reaching there and after getting my eyes checked, Dr Cyres told me that Lasik was not possible in my eyes due to high power and the best treatment would be ICL surgery. Next day i went to his OT and gave my measurements for the lenses. Luckily my power and size lenses (STAAR VISION of Switzerland) was available in India and he managed to procure it in 2 days. Third day, i was given my time for the ICL. The procedure was of hardly 20-30 mins for both the eyes. The way my procedure was executed by Dr Cyres is commendable. He told me tu panic mat kar, aram se music sun aur mein tera surgery karta hu. There was no pain and from evening, i started getting a good vision and next day onwards i had 6/6 vision. I would highly recommend Dr Cyres for any eye procedure. He makes you feel so comfortable when you are there with him and will listen to all your queries and respond in a great smiling way. Got my SMILE surgery done yesterday and it was superb! Excellent results after day 1. Flew in from my city to get it done in 3 days. Checkup on Day 1, Procedure on day 2, Post checkup day 3(Recommend asking doctor on the number given in the website in advance) Really happy about this decision. Dr Cyres Mehta answered all my questions patiently. His confidence and experience made me feel more comfortable about the procedure.
